August

After a closely fought first month of the season where competitors have jumped around the table like a 12-year-old kid on space dust, Fred finally reigned supreme due in no small part to his beloved Sheffield United being top of the championship with a league-high 18 points.
In the second place, Mike was the only person to score in each section. When asked how he was performing so well, he said, "He achieved this despite Sadiq Khan's bike lanes clogging up London and would be happier if he instead concentrated on dealing with Uber and its many vices". What this had to do with Leyton Orient's surprising start to the season is beyond this writer.
Bringing up the rear as Mug of the month is Paul Hatton, who, while taking the longest to submit his choices, languishes in the basement with 6 points. Having seen his bets for the last year as regards football, this is no surprise to myself.
Anyway, all to play for as no one wins the league in August, and there is a long way to go before the prize is handed out come next May.
